They said, "Hey, it's over.
Face it, the girl's gone now.

Go, have yourself some fun."

Oh, it was hard
But I made a show of it
Got on with my life again
Got back in the flow of it
And, bit by bit
I made a go of it.
Then near some restaurant
I'd been to.
Guess who I
Ran in to?
She smiled
And said, "Well, hey there.
Say, you're looking great now.
I'd chat, but I'm so late now.
Take care, I gotta run."
I watched her go
And stood there trying
To keepy myself from crying.
But that's easier said
