Biography
Lucas Vidal was born in Madrid in 1984 into a family with deep ties to music. At three he began to play the piano, at seven the flute, and at ten he started to turn off the sound on films such as Cinema Paradiso, imagining the sharps and flats that he himself would insert. He was deeply inspired by Ennio Morricone and John Williams. His huge talent did not go unnoticed by the staff at Berklee, the most prestigious centre for film score composing in the world, who offered Lucas a grant to study Film Scoring and Composition. He became the youngest Berklee student to compose and record a soundtrack with a full orchestra. In 2009, Lucas made the leap to Los Angeles. In 2012, he made his breakthrough thanks to his first blockbuster “Fast and Furious 6”. He has worked in over 25 movies since then. in 2016, he received an Emmy Award for composing ESPN’s official theme music for the Olympic Games in Rio. His first album, Karma, in which he fuses orchestral music and electronic, will come out next fall.
