Sand dunes slip in slowly to the sea River reeds are rustling round and round Harbour lights are flashing their eyes at three Salty starfish waiting to be found Flames are flickering fire from the sand Waves are washing walls of waterweeds Pebbles sifting shingle through their hands Leave them lying there like fallen seeds And as I stand on crystal sand I see through younger eyes The lights at play They dance away The years that gave them life Clouds are printing patterns on the sky The air is turning warmer as I stand The beacon lights are fading As the night draws to an end Dawn is breaking light upon the sand And as I stand on shingle sand I see through older eyes The games have gone But I live on I know they've passed me by
