We are all at different stages As we go through different phases We have all got our own problems And some day we just might solve them And you'll never find out, what it's like in their shoes You will never find out 'til you feel it too You will never find out why they acted that way You will never find out 'til you feel the pain We are all at different stages And we're stuck on different pages We have all got different faces And we live in different places And you'll never find out, what it's like in their shoes You will never find out 'til you feel it too You will never find out why they acted that way You will never find out 'til you feel the pain For many years I have grown cynical of life As I witnessed too much, too much But with the passing of time I have learned again to love To love the rocks, and the trees, and the sky above And the river flowing past the city The weeds growing between the cobblestones I'm learning to understand To understand the little things is to forgive everything When you begin to understand people, you begin to understand fear And greed, and lust for power And ignorance and the pull of he-who-shouts-the-loudest And then you can start to forgive Perhaps we're living in a different day A day I have lived (lived in the past) in the past or will live again in the future And you'll never find out, what it's like in their shoes You will never find out 'til you feel it too You will never find out why they acted that way You will never find out 'til you feel the pain
