I sang in church for what it's worth
They let me out for time served
I learned anything goes in love and warfare
I went to work so i could live
When i tried to live i had nothing to give
But I learned a thing or two about doing my share
I went to school so I could learn
But nobody knew how to teach
But i picked up a lot just hanging 'round
Played guitar like Thunderstruck
Played in the woods getting high in my truck
I sang a different tune and i hand to sing it loud
Well, I've worked a lot of jobs
And i had a few real tough gigs
Where I played a lot of shows for just a few
I've seen people change their ways
Out of time and out of place
Well, no stones thrown because I know I've done it too
