The Beach Boys sang a song, A little while ago. About a place in the keys, Where they like to go. They said, "You get there fast, And you take it real slow." And the name of the place Was: "Kokomo" So I came down, To find this place. I looked all around, Without a trace. I asked the locals, "Where could it be?" He said. "If you find it, Please come and tell me." Is it out in the ocean, Or the Gulf of Mexico? Is it near Key West, Or Key Largo? Can somebody tell me, Which way do I go? And where the heck is Kokomo? I went to the library, To see what I could find. I asked the lady there, She was so very kind. We searched all day, Looked on every list. Then she finally said, "I don't think it exists." Is it out in the ocean, Or the Gulf of Mexico? Is it near Key West, Or Key Largo? Can somebody tell me, Which way do I go? And where the heck is Kokomo? Then I met an old man, I saw earlier. He said he could tell me, But what was it worth. I said anything, I really don't care Then buy me a beer, And I'll take you there. Now close your eyes, Feel the tropical air, Reach out your arms, And release all your cares. He said, "Can you feel it? Don't be afraid to let go." It's all around, It's Kokomo And it's out in the ocean. It's in the Gulf of Mexico. It's in Key West, And Key Largo. When you arrive, Your heart will know. And I will welcome you, To Kokomo.
