Biography
Anne-Kathrin Dern is a German film composer, currently residing in Los Angeles, California. She is mostly known for her scores to "The Jade Pendant" (2017), "Sprite Sisters" (2020), "Lilly's Bewitched Christmas" (2017), and "Help I Shrunk My Parents" (2018), as well as her collaborations with Klaus Badelt, most notably on "Leap!" (2016) and "Wish" (2019). Dern started her career at Cinesamples and Hollywood Scoring as a sample library developer and full-time staff composer, specializing in mockups and music for TV, Video Games and Motion Picture Advertising. As part of their in-house team she worked on Microsoft's 'HALO V: Guardians', Riot Games' 'League of Legends', FOX 'Gracepoint', Disney's 'The Pirate Fairy', and more. She later collaborated with Christopher Lennertz and Alan Menken, and went on to assist William Ross, Steve Jablonsky, and Pinar Toprak. She also collaborated with composer Ryan Shore and interned at Hans Zimmer's Remote Control Productions. Since early 2016, Dern has frequently partnered up with Klaus Badelt to co-compose music for movies, video games, plays, and theme park rides. Dern composed music for a variety of productions so far, including The Jade Pendant, Lilly's Bewitched Christmas, Captain Black, Help I Shrunk My Parents, and Wish. Dern also contributed an orchestral arrangement of Chris Braide's title song Back To Earth for the animated movie Trouble as well as several additional arrangements to Warner Bros. female-led reboot Ocean's 8.
