Down by the sea
My story's been heard
By far too many people
And I can't go back to handing out the footnotes
To everyone that shows no sign of effort
So I'm slowly wilting away
Accepting my fate, finding my place to stay
Never knew where it could lead me
Theres plenty of fish in the sea
Little too much if you ask me
I'd rather go to the pond
And I guess that's what made us cross roads after all
Find comfort in the things that we know
Simplicity in what seems to be so far gone
Down at the koi pond
Swimming down the river flushed by the stream
Like a fisherman you're waiting but no fish is right there
Wearing a shirt coloured in blue marine
With the fishing pole you're tied to the chair
Alors tu rentres tard, demain tout ça repart
Sans succès, tu te dis the water is full of sharks
Another fish at a time, your patience lost in the tides
But remember kois don't bite
We know there's plenty of fish in the sea
But you're sitting here with me
Down at the pond
Is where we were meant to cross ways after all
Find beauty in the things we took for granted
For way too long
Now we're down at the koi pond

I can tell that we're swimming in muddy waters
Against the current
Trying to hold on to each other
Sometimes the most reasonable thing is to let go
But sometimes the most reasonable thing is not the end goal
So hold on
For as long as you want
And I'll hold on
There's not as many fish in the pond
But still a good handful of them to chose from
And I would understand if you tried your luck
In different waters
Find forgiveness in the things we let go
Peace in the things we get to hold on to
But for now I'm down at the koi pond with you
