Biography

Kate came to faith through her love of gospel music which led her to a choir in Notting Hill. Legendary pianist/producer Mark Edwards and his wife Tracy invited her to church in Brighton, and Mark and Kate began their long-standing writing partnership. They formed 'The Fabulous Sister Brothers', an outreach band with jazz, soul and gospel influences. Mark then produced Kate's three solo albums, 'One Day', 'Heart and Soul' and 'Redemption Songs'. Kate and husband Miles made a life-changing visit to a revival which saw Kate unexpectedly launched into leading worship at major events such as Stoneleigh Bible Week, Spring Harvest, the Newfrontiers Leadership Conferences, Mission Worship and many more in the UK and beyond, with Kate and her songs appearing on over 50 albums. In 2007, inspired by the words of Darlene Zschech, "success in the kingdom is building into the lives of others", they moved with their infant son Matthew to Sydney, Australia to focus on raising up worship leaders and musicians in their new local church. Songwriting took a back seat until COVID lockdowns provided an opportunity to fully reconnect with and 'fan into flame' the gift she now feels was her first call. New collaborations with Geraldine Latty and Carey Luce have been especially fruitful with Christmas songs.
