I skipped along the rising water Was cradled in the river, and settled in the sun I thought of how my life was changing How troubles were fading, and the woman I loved And the weather was the kind that I remembered From my first day in Seattle, on the 4th of July When I saw the bald eagle fly I saw the sadness in the lion's eyes As he watched his little brother die under a claw I thought of making different choices Of answering all their questions and finally being free And I felt like I fell into a painting, One I saw in Amsterdam, on the day I first knew That it had always been you And now, in final desperation I let go of the darkness and I move towards the light Just think of what you'll leave behind now And what there is to gain and how it's all decided The people I met throughout my lifetime They're walking in a line now and show me a smile I'll be home in just a little while
