How long has it been since you went whistling down the street?
I was just thinking to myself just the other day,
When was the last time I saw anybody whistling down the street.
Well, it must have been longer than I can remember.
Somewhere along the line a lot of
People get the funniest ideas about success.
They seemed to think that a perpetually hurt look,
A frequent skull or necessary to convince others of one seriousness.
Some of this fellows,
And I see them along Madison avenue all the time,
Must spend hours in the mirror
Every morning perfecting their grimaces.
This is not my way of suggesting that we
Should adopt the phony sort of giddy smile either.
I'm simply saying that we're missing out on one of the major
Goal in life, if we don't develop one of the whistle attitude.
Call it a sense of fun.
In fact psychiatrist say that having a sense of fun
Is practically indispensable to being well adjusted.
You know what it really boils down to,
It boils down to a marvelous mechanism that enables us to derive the
Utmost appreciation of every lovely little
Thing that comes in our lives and a lump sum.
I mean little ordinary thing like a glorious sun field morning or an
Exquisite flower by the side of the road or the scent of new morn hay
In a country field or even a spectacle of an
Inspired creation of men such as a painting or a building.
I think that everybody ought to develop this capacity for
Fun if he wants to get the most out of life and who doesn't.
If you're missing out on enjoying the
Little things in life, listen closely.
Ok, just how do you go about developing this
Wonderful sense of fun we've been talking about.
I've never heard a better way than the one used recently by Brooklyn
Couple, friends of mine who wrote me that,
"They made it a habit to expect a pleasant surprise
Everyday to expect it almost inevitably, they said.
The degree of surprise was in direct proportion to the
Amount of confidence that they had put into their expectancy.
William Felps or Billy Felps, as he was called,
Was One of the great professor at Yale university.
Billy Felps used to say that the happiest person
Was the one who thinks the most interesting thoughts.
Now, interesting thoughts are constructive thoughts.
If your thoughts tend to be morose in anyway or
Whatsoever then my friend you better start away in revamping them.
