I woke up in the evening wearing someone else's clothes My hair was in the sink and blood was runnin' out my nose There was a hand upon my shoulder Connected to an arm Stretched out far beyond my kitchen through the doorway to my lawn He stood underneath the moonlight I never learned his name I'd seen him in a dream before and nothing was the same His eyes were hiding life like stained glass I noticed in his stare His throat was lined with bullet holes but he didn't seem to care And so I asked how he was doing He told me he was dead I asked if I was too or if this was all just in my head He said "It doesn't really matter You should really get some sleep" He tucked me in my bed and then set fire to my sheets Oh, oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh Oh, oh, oh, oh I woke up in a shower pullin' leeches off my skin I'd scrub em' down for hours then I'd slap them on again Till my flesh had turned to jelly My bones they broke like bread My brain had felt like scrambled eggs inside my toasted head I said "Get out of my house" And they pretended to be dead The moon turned toward malice And the water turned red I don't wanna be there when the sky turns to tile Naked and shakin' and covered in bile Hide your sickness, hide your strain Oceans of needles under blankets of hay Nobody's listening but everyone's watching Everyone's watching but nobody cares!
