Many question why Giordano had not surrendered the clergy and denied his convictions. His studies and convictions, however, wide open consistency in their actions:
According to the hermetic principle of cause and effect, the masses common sense are taken forward, following the wishes and desires of others, the collective, where external causes become more important than the will. About this, Giordano says, "It is proof of a base and low mind for one to wish to think with the masses or majority, merely because the majority is the majority. Truth does not change because it is, or is not, believed by a majority of the people."
