It was a Tuesday and Ed's patience had run thin
Cos he was fresh out of boxes to hide problems in

Cos Ed lived halfway to Heaven and halfway to Hell
His ma had preached about immortality
About the evils of drinking and the female species

Outside of school Ed spend his time on the farm
He knelt on stones to say his preyers and tended pigs in the barn
He was a shy boy who laughed at his own jokes
His mannerisms seemed real strange to most other folks
