Last week They introduced a massive government takover That would destroy our incredible economic ange They introduced the so-called Green New Deal It's a difference isn't it between Taking any notice of this And doing something about it I've witnessed startling changes Changes that are today Threatening our very civilizations And as the planet continues to warm These consequences just get worse Raise and reinforce the dams To protect hundred of homes downstream From the sorts of floods expected In extreme range that are forcast to come Seas will keep rising for maybe thousands of years Because the ocean deep has absorbed so much Heat already If we want avoid catastrophy We have to drastically cut emissions Now! All this happening before our eyes And yet we act as if we have All the time we want And all the solutions It's a difference isn't it between Taking any notice of this And doing something about it Did you have to worry of these things When you were my age? Did you Did you put aside all the coke cans Did you recycle everything And so on and so on (Did you) So how in the world are you gonna solve the problem When you can't even measure the consequence of your actions Like, how is that even possible What are we gonna do? Switch to wind and solar? Well good luck with that Just try it and see what happens (Things are serious now) Germany tried it They produced more carbon deoxide Than they did when they started That wasn't a very good plan 200 goals isn't a plan It's a wishlist Now! If you don't know how to fix it Please, stop breaking it What you do makes me cry at night (We're not gonna do a damn thing about it) You grown-ups say you love us But I challenge you Please, make your actions reflect your words But what are we gonna do? You're gonna stop, like, having heat? You're gonna stop having electricity? You're gonna stop driving your cars? You're gonna stop taking trains? It's not like you're not You're gonna stop using your IPhones? You're not gonna do any of that And no wonder
