Biography
Cecy B is a Mexican-American artist from Southern California. She has been singing Mariachi and Regional music since she was 6. Cecy discovered Hip Hop as a teenager and was mostly influenced by female artists at the time. She soon found herself inspired to mix rap verses with melodic hooks in both English and Spanish. Cecy B got her start in the biz singing hooks for rappers in the Chicano Rap space. From 2005-2008 Cecy was part of the LA underground hip hop scene, performing weekly at different venues, working as a host for CrusiingTv Lowrider shows, collaborating with local artists as well as releasing mixtapes/street albums. In 2009 she released her album "Truth Love Change". Fast forward to 2012, she ventured out to Miami and released her album "The Connect" in 2015 which featured Lil Rob on "Mexico" and B-Real on "Bout That" and "How We Roll". She reignited her passion for music and is now working on her album 2023 release- a mix of Hip Hop, mellow singing vocals, eclectic afrobeats and Latin hip hop influenced production in Spanglish. On Cinco de Mayo, 2023 Cecy B returned and released "Chicana" an anthem calling for pride in your roots and celebrating the Chicano culture. Then on the 23rd of that same month she released "Rosas" which brings Latin Afrobeat vibes as she sings passionately in Spanglish about struggles and triumph. With some creative collabs and ventures coming this year including a new merch line due for release in Fall 2023, Follow to stay CONNECTED!
