Biography
“Sonic Blume have created a dream-pop world of their own, where their melodic tendencies flow in the direction of an ethereal soundscape to bask within.” (Earmilk Magazine, Sean Kayden). Sonic Blume is Max Connery, Danny Murray and Noah Sullivan. Influenced by Joy Division, DIIV, The Smiths, and my bloody valentine, they released their debut EP while still in high school (Nov 2017), and were awarded The Asbury Park Music Award for Best Young New Artist. Their second EP “Beach Karma” (July 2018) brought the band greater recognition, with college and international radio airtime. The EP was listed on “You Don’t Know Jersey’s” “Best NJ Records of 2018” and the band appeared on NJ.com’s “Top Bands to Hear in 2019” and “Top Bands to Hear in 2020.” This forward momentum led Sonic Blume to signing with Asbury Park’s new independent label Shore Points Records. The band released their debut LP “We’re Drifting Further Apart, Aren’t We?” in 2021, which was recorded and produced by Erik Kase Romero of The Front Bottoms (Lorde/Gaslight Anthem). Their debut LP is a collection of songs which create a dreamy world of escapism. It explores themes of longing, separation and isolation. They recently finished up their first East Coast Tour 2022 and are currently recording their next LP. Sonic Blume has performed with national touring artists The Happy Fits, flipturn, Tor Miller and joe p.
