Biography
Silvertongue is a Portland-based indie-rock band known for their genre-bending, catchy guitar riffs, and vulnerable story-telling. The quartet consists of Andrew Stevens (vocals, guitar), Jake Hogan (lead guitar), Dorian Taylor (bass), and Melissa Boell (keys). Frontman, Stevens, grew up writing folk songs in the Berkshires of New England. It wasn’t until he met his college roommates that he considered what his singer-songwriter style might sound like backed by a full band. Shortly after, Silvertongue was born in the liquor-coated dorm he shared with his bandmates. The group discovered a unique sound on their debut album “Ghosts,” with a mix of party anthems, love songs, and tear jerkers that encapsulate the full spectrum of early-twenties chaos. With more maturity and clarity, the band dialed in their signature style on their sophomore album “Arboretum,” produced by Zach Bloomstein. With themes of generational frustration, friendship, missed connections, and self-doubt, “Arboretum” paints a perfect picture of early adult life in a city far from home.
