Biography

Paul is a Korean pianist and composer who is based in the UK. He has been greatly influenced by classical composers such as Schumann, Faure and Finzi as well as jazz musicians such as Bill Evans and Keith Jarrett. This is why he is always seeking to blend classical stability with jazz flexibility in his music, particularly in harmonisation. One of his current projects is to make reflective/soft piano pieces drawing upon many inspirations and insights traditional Christian hymns may offer to our modern day lives. So far, he has produced two hymn albums which are in a semi-classical style with a light touch of jazz harmony. His other project is to re-articulate well-known classical pieces in his own musical language. His single album 'Mum's Lullaby', 'Echoes of Sicilienne' and 'Siciliana' adopt the main theme of classical pieces by Brahms, Faure and Mozart respectively.
