ShaSimone is a British-Ghanaian rapper and songwriter, born and raised in Hackney, London, and recognisable by her versatile coffee-soaked vocals and skillful wordplay. Her career took off in 2020, during the height of the pandemic when she started releasing freestyles on Twitter. “A* babe and I didn’t go Brampton,” she spits on one freestyle, which has garnered over 100,00 views. Fast forward to 2021, ShaSimone featured on Dave’s #1 sophomore album We’re All Alone in This Together on the track, ‘Both Sides of a Smile’ along with James Blake. She went on and performed alongside Dave to 20,000 people at his sold out O2 tour in the same year. Now, she’s ready to drop her 7-track debut EP, 'Simma Down' which she’s treating with the care and dedication that’s usually reserved for a first album; writing and rewriting because, here, ShaSimone tunes into all of her emotions. Throughout her career, she has toured with The Compozers and performed at small intimate venues and for huge crowds at festivals like Wireless and Park Life in 2021 and is set to play The Great Escape in Brighton in 2022. With an EP and more singles on the way, it’s set to be Simma season all year long.
