Chel Strong, a multifaceted hip-hop artist/songwriter was born and raised in Detroit, MI but currently resides in Los Angeles, CA. Growing up as the son of grammy award winning Motown singer/songwriter, Barrett Strong, Chel has always had music in his blood. He began his musical journey as a young teenager in several Hip-Hop groups before making his way west where he would begin to truly hone in on his craft. Walking in his fathers footsteps, Chel has already penned records with major artists such as Faith Evans and Fonzworth Bentley, as well as writing and performing a multitude of songs that have appeared in TV, film and video games such as: MLB The Show 2021, Ubisoft Creed Champions, the box office film Growing up and Other Lies, and BTS for Marvel’s Venom Let There Be Carnage. Chel has also featured his music on shows such as Jersey Shore, Love and Hip Hop, Growing Up Hip Hop, Couples Retreat, BET Hip Hop Awards, Married to Medicine, NBA Game Time, The Encore, Love After Lockup, Made From Scratch and many more! Chances are if you watch the networks MTV, BET, OWN TV, NBA TV, Fuse, Vice, NBC, BBC, Netflix, Hulu, Amazon, HBO, or any of the streaming apps, you have at some point heard Chel Strong’s music. Chel got his start with the music licensing world working with producer Adam Hayman and award winning production team The Midi Mafia on his album “Good Life Special” which has landed hundreds of synchs world-wide since 2020.
