Biography

Brought to life by comedian and musician Jarrod Alonge, the fictitious emo math rock band Canadian Softball made their debut in 2015 on Beating a Dead Horse: Deluxe Ultra-Limited Exclusive Undead Edition. Alongside other genre-satirizing outfits like Sunrise Skater Kids, Vermicide Violence and Amidst the Grave's Demons, Canadian Softball represents the late-'90s/early-2000s era of emo, lampooning bands like Hawthorne Heights, My Chemical Romance, American Football and Modern Baseball. Their debut album Awkward & Depressed arrived in the summer of 2017 with the singles Your Validation, Great Again and the medley Ohio Is for Emo Kids. In 2020 they teamed up with Jarrod's hardcore band Chewed Up on the split album COSPLIT-19 with the song Socially Distant.
