An old soul living through 21st century anxieties, Filipina soul-singer Bella Luna makes music that’s raw, gritty & authentic. Currently residing in the Netherlands, she finds her roots in the Philippines where she first experienced the transcendental power of music in church. The warmth and huskiness in her voice is reminiscent of the soul, funk & jazz of Erykah Badu, Amy Winehouse, Jill Scott akin to the specific sound of Brooklyn Daptone Records. Off stage, her harmonious voice also touches the hearts of fellow protestors who also identify with her, openly reflecting on personal experiences of abuse and observations of injustice while calling for personal growth as a means towards freedom & equality.
