His music blends American soul and the nostalgic funk of French house, stemming from his close connection to the country where he performs often. While growing up on a small farm in Statesville, North Carolina, Desmond learned to appreciate blues and rock music from his late father. As a teenager he became fascinated with R&B and the quirky vibe of French Touch music. His sound today is an amalgamation of these sounds. A meeting with a Germany-based record producer in high school while gigging at The Evening Muse, led Desmond to begin his career in Paris where he quickly joined the French band Her until the bands untimely demise in 2019. In 2020 he released the single "Playing with Fire" which received unexpected acclaim and has streamed over 2 million times on Spotify. In October 2021 he released his debut album “Shadowdancer” followed by a European tour which included a sold out release show at the iconic venue La Maroquinerie and an opening slot for “Feu! Chatterton.” Desmond currently lives in Atlanta and is touring supporting the new album.
