Biography

Veteran Toronto MC, Dan-e-o debuted in 1996 with his first single “Dear Hip Hop” - now considered a Canadian Hip-Hop classic. In 2000, Dan-e-o released his debut album, “The Book of Daniel" to rave reviews and nationwide intrigue. In 2004, his second LP, "See No Evil, Hear No Evil" cemented his reputation as one of the world's most elite MCs.
Dan-e-o is also one half of the duo Perfeck Strangers with fellow rap veteran, PROMISE. Their debut album, "Series Premiere" was released through URBNET in March 2012.
Produced entirely by Monolith cohort, Charisma a.k.a. Skizzz, Dan-e-o's long overdue third LP, “Inevitable” dropped in November 2013, highlighting his growth as a songwriter, vocalist and potent lyricist.
In November 2014, Dan-e-o went back to his roots by releasing the seminal LP, "Dear Hip Hop", exclusively on vinyl through France’s Sergent Records. Comprised of tracks written and recorded during the “boom bap” heyday of the 90’s, the project was re-released by URBNET as a 20th Anniversary deluxe edition album entitled "Dear Hip Hop: 20 Years Later" in October 2017.
On April 23, 2014, Dan-e-o became a father. His fifth album, "The Day It All Changed" doubles as a soulful ode to his wonderful daughter, Melina and his most mature, polished presentation of lyricism to date. The LP features guest appearances from Wordsworth, Pearl Gates, Choclair, Ro Dolla, Grimace Love and up-and-coming R&B sensation, Xentury. It was released by URBNET on October 4, 2019.
