Biography

Habibollah Badiee (April 4, 1933, Savadkouh, Mazandaran - October 19, 1992, Tehran), a great Iranian musician and violinist. He started playing the violin as a child. His teachers were Mofakham Payan, Jingozian and Maestro Abolhasan Saba. Since 1950, he worked as a soloist with the army music program. Habibollah Badiee was a true master of Iranian music with a complete mastery of Iranian Music Radif and a brilliant technique in playing the violin. He started his work in Golha program in 1958 at the invitation of Davoud Pirnia, head of the Golha program. In 11964, he became a member of the Radio Music Council, in 1966, he became the deputy director of Tehran Radio and then the deputy director of music department. From 1967 to 1972, he was the head of the Radio Music Department and from 1972 to 1979, he was appointed as a member of the Council of the Music Unit, and he was the leader of orchestras No. 2, 4, and 6. He was the leader of the Barbad Orchestra for 6 years. Habibullah Badiee made several trips to Afghanistan, Germany, America, Belgium and England in order to introduce the traditional and original music of Iran, where artists such as Jahangir Malek, Farhang Sharif, Majid Najahi, Mahmoudi Khansari, Jamal Vafaei and Kouros Sarhangzadeh were present and they cooperated with him. Habibullah Badiee died on 19 October 1992 at the age of 59 due to heart disease in Tous Hospital in Tehran and his body was buried in Imamzadeh Taher (Karaj).
