Biography
Ian David Green is a singer, song-writer and composer from Liverpool, England. He released his debut album, Songs of the Sea, in February 2021 to critical acclaim from folk and Americana sites and radio shows. Folking.com hailed it as "a truly magnificent work", Backseatmafia.com called it "an amazing debut" and Folkradio.co.uk lauded Green's "fine ear for a song". This was followed by 2022's Songs from the Wheel, featuring Green's trademark poetic lyrics, rich storytelling and melodic blend of folk and Americana styles. Standout singles included the Dylanesque Antony & Cleopatra Head for the Highlands and the lush, poignant 1950s ambience of White Sand / Black Star. In 2020, Green released his darker and more experimental ambient folk EP Songs of the Electric Night, evoking brooding artists such as Radiohead, Nick Cave and The Tindersticks.
