Biography

Wraiths are the Scottish based trio of James Allan, Colin McKellar and Neil Skinner. Forged from the early days of the acid house/rave scene, they are united by many things musically, but none more than their collective love of Roland's ubiquitous TB303. This little nondescript silver box (and in particular, German duo Hardfloor's use of it) first sucked in McKellar and Skinner, who, by their admission, were "conventional" music fans preferring the scream of distorted guitars to anything produced by a machine. Allan, on the other hand, was a bonafide digital kid from day one. He was already completely on board with a track like Acperience and what it was capable of, but for McKellar and Skinner, it was a pivotal moment. "I had never seen anything like it," said Skinner. "I mean, a dancefloor with 2,000 people on it properly losing their minds for nine whole minutes. I was sold there and then." But you can't forget your roots, and that's what the Wraiths wall of sound is all about. That mishmash of digital and analogue, that celebration of noise from traditional instruments fused with modern technology. Skinner shouts, McKellar shreds, and Allan seamlessly stitches it all together. We. Are. Wraiths. Merch and more info - https://wearewraiths.com
