Biography

Iden Gakusha / 遺 伝 学者 was formed in 2017 by guitarist Ulysses Venegas and bassist Rodrigo Acuña. The name of the band is translated from the Japanese as "The one that studies the genetics" since it is derived from the soloist and instrumental project of Ulysses (The Genetist). The drummer Shadai Armendariz and the vocalist Noam Rittner join the band and with them a great rhythmic and melodic impulse is achieved by integrating a new element in the themes, the voice. The musical style of the band is cataloged within the Progressive Metal / Avant Garde or as they sometimes call it "Djapanese Djent", and is complemented in perfect synchronicity with the music influenced in tonalities, structures and traditional Japanese harmony, accompanied by typical instruments from Japan as the Koto and the Shamisen. The band currently has a Live Session video recorded on Yeti Records and a titled EP Geisha recorded on Reconstruct Records. In which Japanese philosophical elements are taken and narrate the life of 4 Geishas by way of short stories.
