Biography

Avocyn is a one-woman solo project, hailing from Springfield, Oregon. The person behind it all, Ash Wolfthorn, has the tough position of being a trans woman in the metal scene. Their debut record, EP "A Triptych Descent" dropped June of 2021 bringing three heavy Deathcore tracks. The full length expirimental album "Mortal Coil", featuring Taylor Barber and Alec Lopez, dropped June 17th 2022 and brought a mix of deathcore and death metal fusing some blackened elements to both tied together with a strong symphonic elements. The end of 2022 saw the release of a filthy, heavy single titled 'Endbringer', the first leading up to a full second album of pure disgusting blackened symphonic deathcore in 2023 entitled 'Daemonia Obscura'. Ash is "extremely proud of this new album. I've poured everything I've experienced and all the emotions over the past few years from leaving the church, to coming out as trans into this album. It's probably the most personal music I have written and I'm glad to share it with some awesome guest vocalists, yet to be announced".
