Biography
The Italian concept-group Playahitty joined an illustrious who's who of '90s pop stars that included La Bouche, C+C Music Factory and Arrested Development when it was ranked #25 on Music & Media's countdown of the year's Top European Dance Radio records (December, 24, 1994). To generate its palpably warm sensation, the smash song “The Summer Is Magic” steers clear of gimmicks, offering a brisk, persistent beat, a strong vocal and evocative lyrics that speak to the excitement of one man's summer encounter with a lovely girl. (To be more precise, it's one girl during the day and another one at night.) The song has an enchanting quality about it, which no doubt helped the song to peak at #34 on Music & Media's Eurochart Hot 100 Singles chart on September 24, 1994, after gaining immense popularity in France, Germany, the Netherlands, and other countries. The track was the brainchild of a young songwriter and producer named Emanuele Asti, who partnered with Italian arranger Stefano Carrara to launch the version that became so popular. A few additional singles were released by Asti under the Playahitty moniker, while his original hit single resurfaced in numerous remixed versions and appeared on literally hundreds of summer compilation albums over the years. "The Summer Is Magic" is widely regarded as one of the all-time champion eurodance songs, and few can match its energized celebration of the season. 2022 James Arena “Hot Summer Jams” “Pop Song That Bring Out The Summer”
