Biography

Jabali Afrika are one of the most iconic and important bands to emerge over the last three decades. Founded by brothers Justo and Joseck Asikoye, the band is famous for a unique blend of jam rock, roots reggae and African percussion. After winning Carnivore Star Search in 1993, the band began touring globally, and to date have clocked millions of miles across the US, Europe and Africa. Playing up to 250 live shows per year, the band that got its start at the Kenyan National theatre, has performed to live audiences all over the world. Jabali Afrika has collaborated with Samba Mapangala, Jah Thunder, Yawezekana Strong, Daktare Dan, Hardstone, Jaja Bashengezi and Nasambu. Their 11th album is slated for release later in 2021. This will follow the release of the single Usiende Mbali, a collaboration with Antonio Carmona of Ketama, Sanaipei Tande, Romantico & Samaki Mkuu.
