Biography

MHIAM started out as a folky solo project back in 2012, when lead singer Mattis Malinen released the self produced EP 'Sketches' and hobo-toured Europe by train. Later joined by Gustaf Simonsson and Felix Carlsten, the newly formed trio moved closer to indie rock territory and went on to win the title as “Sweden’s best unsigned band” on Sweden’s biggest national radio station. This was followed by a UK tour, performance on Sweden’s biggest TV benefit - “Musikhjälpen”, airtime in the US and featured on the soundtrack to “Made In Chelsea” amongst many things. In early 2019 the band signed to Fifth Island Music (Sony Music Group) and has since released several singles, the most recent being ‘Diamonds’ - a feel-good indie pop anthem featured on several notable Spotify playlists such as Hits today, Swedish Hits, Life is good and New Music Friday. My heart is a metronome is releasing their 5-track EP 'Benevolence' on December 13th 2019, produced by grammy award winning producer Simon Nordberg, dito mixer Pelle Gunnerfeldt and the up and coming Dino Medanhodzic.
