Biography

American Theory is an alt-rock outfit from Charlotte, North Carolina with obvious post-hardcore and emo influences. Our debut album, “Your Local Politics” released in 2018 and kicked off our momentum in the NC scene. Our song, “The Lion and the Liar” had the privilege of being on the video game, “Nascar Heat 4” and our song, “Colors” won Best Rock Music Video at the 2019 Carolina Music Video Awards. After struggling to adjust to a post-pandemic world, we finally released a string of singles that will untimely make up our 2023 EP titled “We Still Have Time”. These songs almost never made their way out to the public due to the amount of time we held on to them, but we needed to release them to continue to grow and shape our sound for future releases.
