Brassica is music by UK producer Michael Anthony Wright. His music distills a storied musical past; capturing Balearic house, real electro, italo disco, new wave, psych, synth music, techno and rave nostalgia; without sounding consigned to any part of it. From Brassica’s highly sought early releases on Dissident - through his DJ Mag Album of the Year nominated LP “Man is Deaf” on Civil Music - to his Acid, Breaks and Balmy House spanning EP on the Feel My Bicep Label - or his latest turn, this time on Vivod, expansive shroom opus taking in Techno, Horror, EBM and more - it’s Brassica’s promiscuous liaisons between noirish anxiety, naughty MIDI riffs, majestic orchestral moments, and elements that could have been caned by Belgian new beat and Italian Cosmic DJs that set his music apart and have earned him an enviable list of supporters including Bicep, DJ Harvey, Maceo Plex, Trevor Jackson, Henry Saiz​, Andrew Weatherall​ and Erol Alkan amongst others.
