Biography
Léonie Gray is a singer- songwriter from Montreal who grew up in a artistic household. Her vocal qualities are versatile; gentle and powerful, she easily adapts from Jazz to Soul, from Pop to Rhythm & Blues. Her compositions are tinted with delicacy & themes like love and self growth are abundant. She writes a lot about mental health, traumas and feminism. She can move from sophisticated orchestrations to an intimate pop-soul performance with a repertoire of compositions in which her vocal skills are featured from all angles. Gray appeared on MTelus and CBC stages during the 40th International Jazz Festival of Montreal, and participated to SantaTeresa Festival, FoqueOff, Terrasses Open, in 2019. She shares the stage with Karim Ouellet and Milk&Bone in the same year. Though she is comfortable in the Classical and Folk registers, it is nevertheless Soul, R&B, Pop and Jazz that captured her heart. She opts for vintage sounds and an authentic and spontaneous approach rather than overly slick and synthetic productions. The success of her first album Who?, released in the spring of 2022, propelled Léonie Gray to the forefront of the Quebec music scene. The young singer has been performing at festivals and concert halls with boundless energy. She is continuing her tour for a second consecutive year with great success, and wherever she goes, people are showing up. “Léonie Gray brings back the New York’s Jazz bar spirit” - VICE
