Biography
Recognized as pioneers of electro-rock in Latin America, Colombian act Estados Alterados was created in the late 80’s in Medellín, while drug lords were wreaking havoc throughout the region. More than two decades later, EA continues to innovate. Lineup: Elvis (lead singer), Ricky (drums), Nati (keyboards) and Pipe/Wonder-B (guitar + bass). Their 1990 self-titled debut album featured hit singles “Muévete and “El Velo”, considered today as hymns of electro rock in Latin America. EA was the first Colombian band to premiere a video on MTV. They opened for Information Society in Medellín at the peak of the band’s success. During the 90's they released two more albums, "Cuarto Acto" and "Rojo Sobre Rojo". After collaborating on a tribute album to The Cure in 1999, the members took a break to focus on individual projects. The band independently released "Romances Científicos" in 2010 and "Intruso Armónico" in 2014. In March 2018, EA opened for Depeche Mode in Bogotá as a result of an intense fan-led online campaign. In August 2018 they released their 6th album, Lumisphera, recorded in Los Angeles and produced by Amir Derakh (Orgy, Julien-K, Dead by Sunrise). In 2019 EA released several singles and music videos from Lumisphera; embarked in a mini-tour in Colombia and US, received a double invitation to Rock al Parque's 25th anniversary as a band and also for a special set with Orquesta Filarmónica de Bogotá along 80 musicians to perform in front of over 157,000 people.
