    With his sweet, romantic vocals set to the melodic interplay of accordion, clarinet, and brass section and the rhythms of maracas, bongos, clave, tumba, and cymbals, Romulo Caicedo helped to introduce the Caribbean-influenced cumbia to the international stage.
