Biography

60 Hertz Project is a live band and a musical production team formed in June 2009 from South Africa, Pretoria (Ga-Rankuwa). Our slogan “The Deep Level of Musical Signature!” is what made us team up to introducing new sounds to the world. The project’s musical focus is on Jazzy House, Deep, Lounge, Afro and Soulful House. The team consists of a fusion of musicians and producers. Members of the project include Gosiame "BlackJean" Maodi (Composer/DJ), Siphiwe Daniel "SDK" Kumalo (Pianist/Composer), Cromwell "Cromy" Modungwa (Singer/Songwriter/Percussionist), Kamogelo "Sir-Kaymor" Tshabangu (Bassist/Composer/DJ) and Happy "CavoDeep" Raphiri. The band is currently working with the singer/songwriter "Shalati" Mahori, Thapelo "Mr. Romeo" Lefifi and Lebogang Ditsepu. The International Record Label GOGO Music (Germany) did licensing for a club banging hit single called “Capricorn”, which did very well on the download charts worldwide. Ralf GUM (GOGO Music), QB Smith (Warm Days, UK) and an aspiring Deeptone’s Essential-I did massive remixes on this massive hit. 60 Hertz then collaborated with an international producer called Francesco Briganti (Fastvisionsoul) through GOGO Music Record Label, to produce another Hit called “Tapta Beach” with remixes by Manoo, Trancemicsoul, BlackJean & Marvin K. The "pta" of Tapta is the abbreviation for Pretoria the Jacaranda city.
