Biography
Jag Panzer are a Colorado based heavy metal band formed in 1981. Founded by Mark Briody, Conklin, John Tetley and Rick Hilyard, the group was strongly influenced by the New Wave of British Heavy Metal. The group released an e.p as a four piece, but later added guitar hero Joey Tafolla to record the underground classic ‘Ample Destruction’. Drummer Rick Hilyard left the group and was replaced by Butch Carlson. The band recorded a series of demos which would be released many years later as the ‘Shadow Thief’ album. Several line-up changes occurred in 1986 with vocalist Bob Parduba, guitarist Christian Lasegue and drummer Rikard Stjernquist joining the group. This lineup recorded the album ‘Chain of Command’. Jag Panzer signed with Century Media records and released a series of albums with the initial Century Media release ‘The Fourth Judgement’ featuring the return of Joey Tafolla on lead guitar. All subsequent Century Media releases feature Chris Broderick on lead guitar. The band signed a record deal with SPV in 2010 and released ‘The Scourge of the Light’ with Christian Lasegue returning on lead guitar. The bands final release with SPV, ‘The Deviant Chord’, featured Joey Tafolla on lead guitar. In 2022 the band announced the hiring of longtime tour lead guitarist Ken Rodarte as the new lead guitarist. The band also announced signing with Atomic Fire Records. Jag Panzer’s latest album, ‘The Hallowed’, is scheduled for a 2023 release on Atomic Fire.
