Biography
For 25 years Hellish War has maintained the tradition to play heavy metal on the classical way. New bands, new trends, how many have disappeared as quickly as emerged? Amid the ephemerality of modern metal, the tradition is still alive, overcoming the shackles of time. Formed in Brazil back in 1995, Hellish War released its first studio recording in the very next year, the demo tape The Sign (1996). Defender Of Metal, the debut album, was released in 2001 and spread across the seven seas the group's proposal: a sonority grounded on the british and german heavy metal from the 80th’s. More than 10 years after its release, Defender Of Metal became a cult, being considered by some old school German metalheads as “the best Brazilian Heavy Metal album of all time”. Heroes Of Tomorrow, from 2008, brought the band to higher levels in terms of technique and musicality and opened the gates for the band's first European tour in 2009 with eight shows in Germany, Belgium and Switzerland, including three festivals appearances, among them the mythical “SwordBrothers Festival” in Germany. Live In Germany released in 2010, is the first live album and brought the registry of this tour. Keep It Hellish was the first album with the band's current singer Bil Martins and also followed the second band's European tour plus some appearances on important music festivals. Wine Of Gods, released in 2019, is the band's current studio album and it shows a band in it's best moment. Check it out!
