Biography
Bridging the worlds of music and theatre, Finn Anderson is one of Scotland’s most enchanting storytellers. Growing up by the coast in the East Neuk of Fife, Finn has forged a path as both a singer-songwriter and a musical theatre maker, cultivating an ever-growing audience in Scotland and internationally. He released his second solo album 'Into the Arms of Ghosts' in October 2021; a collection of songs that move freely from the soft and intimate to the bold and dramatic, strung together by sensitive and striking lyrics that go straight for the heart. He has toured and performed throughout the UK, including regularly with ‘Bogha-frois: Queer Voices in Folk’, a community of musicians and songwriters working to increase visibility for LGBTQ+ stories within the Scottish folk tradition. As a writer and theatre-maker Finn has co-created four award-nominated musicals, consistently tackling complex themes and ambitious fusions of musical styles. In 2018 he composed Edinburgh Fringe hit musical ‘Islander’, created entirely for two voices and live vocal looping. After a sell-out run in Edinburgh, the ‘Islander’ cast album was released in 2020, followed by several international translations and productions. 'Islander' ran for 9 weeks Off-Broadway at Playhouse 46 in Spring 2022. New musical ‘A Mother’s Song’ opened in February 2023 at Macrobert Arts Centre in Stirling, and the Concert Cast EP is out now.
