Becky CJ’s navigation through the alt-pop sphere is a dynamic journey of twists and turns that reflect her ever-growing artistic maturity. Born and raised in London, her abundance of musical influences - ranging from Elton John and ABBA to Susanne Sundfør, James Blake, Haim and Frank Ocean - have weaved their way into the tapestry of her own unique blend of pop. Documenting her teenage years with two EPs My Teenage Love Story and If This Is Love, and also sharing 2020’s glorious EP I Can’t Be The Only One Like This, Becky’s trajectory allows her to write about her own experiences, whether that’s narrating romantic connections, being a queer artist in today’s world or simply unfolding and understanding her own emotions. Her latest EP Woman showcases a true reflection of the artist Becky has become today with its bursts of ambition and evocative lyricism offering an insight into an artist who writes from the heart. Garnering an array of online support for her music, Becky continues to flourish with each release. Recently finishing her first sync album, which will be distributed by publishers Nichion, Universal and Five Alarm, Becky’s versatility is astounding. It’s clear that Becky’s song writing is incredibly personal. Through her music you begin to feel like a friend she’s chosen to confide in with the warmth from each release offering an antidote to all of life’s trials and tribulations.
