Biography

Vorbid is a group of four young musicians who demonstratively serve prog-injected tunes in a heavy and technical metal package. From their younger days as a thrash band, with releases such as «Mind» (2018) and the self-titled EP «Vorbid» (2016), the band has since then grown and matured with a more modern approach. With new inspirations from bands such as Vektor, Opeth, Porcupine Tree, King Crimson, Genesis and Rush the band's music has become anything but predictable. With their latest album «A Swan By the Edge of Mandala», Vorbid mixes the best of the older material with new and exciting turns. Recorded and produced at Dub Studio with producer Endre Kirkesola (Green Carnation, Abbath), this concept album delivers a musical and lyrical journey that takes the listener both up and down a dynamic roller coaster. Since the band's inception in 2013, Vorbid has shared stages with major acts such as Leprous, Aura Noir, Obliteration, Gatecreeper, Annihilator, In Vain and played big festivals such as Wacken, Bloodstock and Karmøygeddon. Vorbid consists of Michael Briggs (rhythm guitar/vocals), Daniel Emanuelsen (lead guitar/vocals), Hans Jakob Bjørheim (bass) and Marcus Gullovsen (drums).
