Biography
Selfish Things isn't afraid to make you uncomfortable. The planet is burning, diseases are everywhere, and nobody knows what tomorrow will bring. That information can leave anyone feeling scared and lost, but Selfish Things take a different approach. The band — comprised of Alex Biro, Mike Ticar and Cam Snooks — sees the problems of the world as an essential part of the human experience. The group utilizes our shared hardships and the universal understanding of heartache to craft melancholy songs for optimistic realists that offer a grounded sense of hopefulness amidst the chaos of being. Their songs tell us that life is hard and that no one makes it out alive, but that's okay, because we're all in this together. We can let the existential dread of not knowing break us, or we can make the most of the time we have at this moment. Selfish Things encourages us to choose the latter, and they do so through exquisitely crafted songs that find silver linings in the bleakest truths. - Bio by James Shotwell
