Biography
Formed in late 2019, FORLORN blend folk horror and paganism to carve out their own brand of 'Midsommar Metal'. The juxtaposition of ethereal vocals and haunting soundscapes with chaotic drums and crushing low-level guitars, paired with Megan’s brutal screams, bring together Forlorn’s unique sound and visual identity. Forlorn now wrap up their complete seasonal cycle with the delivery of their first ever physical release, out July 20th 2023. Entitled 'Sæl', this limited edition cassette tape release includes singles 'Old Wounds', 'Redeem, Release', 'Hold Me', and 'The Weight Of It All', all of which have seen Forlorn championed across the board by the likes of Metal Hammer, BBC Radio 1, Kerrang! Radio, Punktastic and all three of Distorted Sound Magazine, Boolin Tunes and Noizze who all stated the band as their ‘Ones To Watch In 2023’. Rounding off the tape with bonus track 'Erased, Live at The Bookhouse', Forlorn offer a glimpse of their visceral, cinematic and hauntingly beautiful live sound. Speaking of 'Sæl', guitarist Edd Kerton comments: "This circle draws to a close as another prepares to open, we invite you to look back so you can prepare for what is yet to come." After a phenomenal headline tour in February 2023 which saw sell out shows across the country and a monumental appearance at Tech Fest 2023, Forlorn are now set to grace Radar Festival alongside Sleep Token, Periphery, Loathe and more on the 30th July 2023.
