Biography

Chester Watson is a surrealist and afro-futurist producer and wordsmith who specializes in blending psychedelic jazz with hip-hop. The 26-year-old artist sees no creative boundaries. Born [redacted] in St. Louis, Missouri, he moved to Metro-Atlanta Georgia at age 5 and then to Clearwater / St. Petersburg, Florida at age 9. At age 11, Watson began studying the Vaganova Method of Ballet under Egyptian born - Russian-trained Ballet Masters. From age 11 to age 14, Watson trained his mind, started skateboarding, and was disciplined in musical theory through a classical ballet lens. In 2013, he emerged onto the rap scene like a shroud of smoke with his record and accompanying music video to Phantom. From there he went on to release an assortment of critically acclaimed singles and mixtapes including: Tin Wooki (2014), Summer Mirage (2015), & Past Cloaks (2016). In 2020, after 4 years of forging a realm in solitude he released his album debut with A Japanese Horror Film (2020). In the aftermath, his prolific output continues as he releases sporadically with EPs like 1997 (2021) and nobody home in soulville {ep} (2022). His sophomore album 'fish don’t climb trees' is slated for release June, 30 2023.
