Biography

Jose Villanueva and Matthew Morgan started Divided By Friday in 2005, when they were thirteen years old. Together, they signed their first record deal, toured the world, and sold thousands of records over the decade that followed. After going on hiatus in 2015, the duo have continued to have a successful career in music, writing music for film, tv, and other artists. Feeling as though there was one final chapter still to be written for the band, Villanueva and Morgan decided it was time to give Divided By Friday a proper goodbye. “Looking Back” is just as its name states- a retrospective and nostalgic nod to the history of the band, where they came from, and the people who impacted their lives along the way. The final three songs for the band are a reflection on learning from the past, growing from loss, and creating a better future.
