Gorgeous War is the feel-good, alt/pop escapade of Phoenix based singer and songwriter Joel Kanitz. His music fuses the genre divide between the infectious melodies of pop and the mindful artistry of the alternative world. Kanitz's refreshing vocals flow effortlessly atop rhythmic elements to create the energizing and alluring sound that is Gorgeous War. The moniker is meant as a hope-entwined illustration of what life can be, and it sets the tone for the artist's overall mission. "I feel my purpose, simply put, is to make great music that cultivates hope." 
 The genesis of Gorgeous War was sparked by Kanitz's desire to pursue new adventures and challenge himself creatively. “The idea of now having absolute control over the art that I put out appeals to me. I’m ready to discover who I am as an individual artist.” Formerly serving as frontman of This Century, Kanitz brings years of international touring, performance and songwriting experience to the table. Gorgeous War’s overall sound has been likened to that of Astrid S and Troye Sivan. His upbeat debut single “In My Room” was released shortly after the project’s start in late 2015. The song went on to earn its place on Top 40 radio charts in Southeast Asia and has garnered the enthusiasm of followers all around the world. Fans can anticipate additional singles, as well as a debut EP followed by the promise of live performances.
