Terry Blade is a singer-songwriter and three-time gold medal winner at the Global Music Awards. A multi-genre artist and a Hollywood Music in Media Award nominee, his musical work is grounded in his experience as a black queer artist. He has drawn comparisons to artists such as Meshell Ndegeocello, Nina Simone and Gil Scott-Heron. With musical roots in DC and Chicago, Terry's music has been featured by Country Queer, Adobe and Teardrops, Surviving the Golden Age, Apple Music's Proud Radio, Yellow & Black, SwanoDown, Tinnitist and Alt77. In 2021, Terry's debut album American Descendant of Slavery, The Album was named in the Archives of African American Music & Culture's "February 2021 Black Music Releases of Note". The album won the Gold Medal Award for Best Lyrics/Songwriting: Listener Impact at the Global Music Awards. The following year, his second album Neo Queer won the Gold Medal Award for Neo Soul at the Global Music Awards. In 2023, Terry's third album Ethos: Son of a Sharecropper won the Gold Medal Award for Americana at the Global Music Awards. The album's single Won't Be Around won Best Blues Recording at the 2023 Radio Music Awards. The album's closing track In My House garnered Terry the award for Best Vocalist at the 2023 Music Video Awards as well as the award for Best Gospel Recording at the 2023 Radio Music Awards.
